In 2011 - 2012, Ebor Concretes worked with Morgan Sindall to develop a precast concrete alternative to the in-situ scheme proposed by Architect Glen Howells and Engineer BWB Consulting for a new centre court for the Priory Tennis Club at Edgbaston.
The Ebor design provided spectator terracing to the centre court and outside match courts plus court walls, access steps and an access tunnel. At the two ends of the court terrace seating units spanned between precast dividing walls and to the sides of the court, the terracing was supported on raker beams laid on the earth banks. In some areas the court walls were designed to be earth retaining and precast retaining walls were also supplied to rear of the spectator terraces.
All units were manufactured in a 10 week period and delivered to site in April 2012 where they were erected by PCE Limited ahead of preparation of the new grass court for its official opening in the Spring of 2013.
